She is being tortured because they found out about her relationship with V and how she has assisted him in killing people, they show a video of her being by a fingerman. They want to get information about V but she refuses to give it to them or tell them who V is.

Evey is happy with Gordon has she feels protected by the gangster and is able to have fun but Rosemary is lonely as no one will talk to her because of the fact that the past two men she has been with has died. At this club, people are getting drunk and listening to a singer who talks about sexual lifestyle and how good Norsefire is making people think that the society they live in is good.

She has a gun because she plans to kill the men who killed Gordon. When she is about to kill the men, a figure comes in and takes the gun, taking her out so she does not kill them, we assume it is V.

She has become a showgirl for the men at the Kitter-Kat Keller club performing for the high authoritative men in order for comfort that she no longer has since her husband has died.

1. This chapter begins with a series of images and scenes from Evey's life. It's as if she is unconscious having a nightmare. Yet, we actually realize she is living a nightmare when she wakes up. What has happened to her?

She has been sent to a Norsefire prison, where slogans of Norsefire are all over the wall.

She moves into sleep in Gordons room when Gordon says he needs to use her room to make room to store items in her room. They have started to develope a sexual relationship, they have sex when Evey asks Gordon if she likes him.

She realizes that all the guards are dummy's and she is not in a norsefire prison, and once she does not give up any information about V she is set free, she realizes that. She realizes that this was all set up because of the dummy's and tape recorders that she previously knew about V.

She refuses to give up any information about V.

What does she discover about Valerie?

That V got the letter from Valerie when he was in the holocost, and her letter inspired V just as it inspired EVey.

That he was doing this to teach her a lesson that she must not confine to the society, that she should hold her secrets and do as she pleases not as she is told even if her life is on the line.

2. When V goes to infiltrate Jordan Tower, the TV station, what kind of show are the security guards watching? What does this say about this society?

The Security is watching the a new story and a childish sex comedy which undermines sexual harassment, seeing it as funny. This reveals that the society wants their citizens to not see sexual harassment as a horrible thing, making it seem ok.

The happiness that was taken away from Valerie, so each time she kills someone she places a rose to show the happiness that he is trying to give back to Valerie. They symbolize death for V.

6. Book Two ends with V and Evey dancing, what does V tell her they're going to do?

They are going to give the word what Valerie wanted, the roses, which is happiness.

1. Evey and V seem to be getting along fine, until she asks him why he hasn't tried to sleep with her. She questions whether he's gay or her father. How does V react to this?

V feels as if Evey is so desperate for a father figure that is why he puts the idea in her mind that V is her father before she even says it. He wants to get the need for a father out of Evey's mind.

1. Who is Valerie? What is her story? How is she inspirational to Evey?

Valerie is another prisoner who sends a note to Evey telling her story. Valerie is a homosexual who fell in love with a women named Ruth and when Ruth was abducted after the war she was forced to give up Valeries name as they needed to punish homosexuals. She is inspirational to Evey because she never gave up her integrity and she still loves Ruth even after she gave up her name to the authorities. She relates to Valerie as they both are punished for doing nothing wrong, they are both deprived of their identity when their heads are shaved. This makes her have a human connection in a place where she is deprived of it. Valerie's message also reminds her of all the things that V taught her and Valerie reminds Evey of V.

3. Evey is now living with a man named Gordon? Is he a nice man? Why or why not?

Yes Gordon is nice to her, he is similar to V in the sense that he protects her but he is a gangster and he wants to survive in the horrible world.
