-Annotating is taking notes while you read. -The purpose of annotating is to help you "digest" the material by giving you specific activities or steps to complete while you read, thereby helping you interact and learn the material.
What can you do to overcome procrastination?
-Ask yourself, "What am I avoiding?" -Ask yourself what advice you would give to a friend facing the same problem. -Set up rewards for yourself. -Divide the task into smaller pieces. -Just do it.
Explain the differences between visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners.
-Auditory learners do best with information that they can hear. -Visual learners like to have something they can see. -Kinesthetic learners are those who enjoy some hands-on experimentation or lab work to help them fully comprehend the information in front of them.

Associate in Engineering (AE)
A broad-based point of entry into employment as an associate engineer and offers students the chance to move into study at undergraduate level.
What is an academic course plan and why is it important to have one?
A chronological and individualized list of the courses you plan to take to earn your specific credential
Associate in General Education (AGE)
A college degree (64-65 credit hours) designed for individuals who want to broaden their education, with an emphasis on personal interest, growth, and development
What is a co-requisite?
A course you must successfully complete AT THE SAME TIME as another course
What is a pre-requisite course?
A course you must successfully complete BEFORE taking another course
What is a credit score and why is it important?
A credit score is a statistical number that evaluates a consumer's creditworthiness and is based on credit history. Lenders use credit scores to evaluate the probability that an individual will repay his or her debts. A person's credit score ranges from 300 to 850, and the higher the score, the more financially trustworthy a person is considered to be.
Grade of F
A grade of F indicates that the student completed the class but earned the F (failing) grade. If a student stops attending class before the last test, final project, or final exam but has not violated the attendance policy, that student will receive the grade earned, including zeros for the work missed.
Grade of I
A grade of I (incomplete) may be given at the discretion of the instructor if the instructor decides that the student (who has contacted the instructor to request an incomplete) has a legitimate reason for missing the last test, final project, final exam, or other assignment.

A system of note taking that involves writing sentence summaries on the right side of the page with keywords and topics indicated on the left
Associate in Applied Science (AAS)
A two year college degree that can be in a variety of areas. This degree is for students who expect to work in their field after graduation. These degrees are not best for students who want to transfer to four year colleges.
Associate in Arts (AA)
A two year college degree usually in arts, history, education, human services, etc. This degree is appropriate for students who want to transfer to a four year school for a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Associate in Science (AS)
A two year college degree usually in science, engineering, computers etc. These degrees are for students who want to transfer to four year colleges.

Advising
Advising is one of the most critical components for your success at Wake Technical Community College. All students (with the exception of Visiting Students) are assigned an Advisor or group of Advisors to help them select courses, answer questions about their program of study, set academic goals, and ensure students are ready for registration.
