1675. longest and bloodiest conflict between settlers and natives in 17th century, native Wampanoags under KIng Phillip ( Indian Chieftain) resisted England settlement on their land, attacked/destroyed English settlements. English joined with iroquois to defeat them

First puritan governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Believed that true freedom depended on subjection to authority.

First written frame of government in the united states, where the adult men going onshore agreed to obey just and equal laws put in place by representatives they chose.
John Rolfe
He was an English settlers at Jamestown, married Pocahontas, successfully grow tobacco in Virginia and cured it for export, which made Virginia an economically successful colony
Anne Hutchinson
Held religious meetings in her home, was put on trial for violating puritan doctrine, and banished. Died in NYC in an indian war.
Metacom
The Wampanoag leader (known to colonists as King Philip) considered by colonists to have been the leader of the bloody 1675 Indian uprising in southern New England.

Navigation Acts
The most valuable colonial goods (tobacco, sugar) had to be transported in english ships and sold initially in english ports, and imports had to go through england and pay taxes first.
