Explain how a hypothesis could become a theory.

A hypothesis must be tested over and over and have a lot of evidence to support it in order to become a theory.

What is a scientific hypothesis? What characteristics must a hypothesis

A scientific hypothesis is a possible answer to a scientific question based of scientific knowledge, logic, and can be false.

What might be an advantage of collecting evidence in a natural setting rather than in a lab?

An advantage might be that the evidence hasn't been touched in its natural setting.

Give an example of a scientific question that could be investigated with an experiment. Then give an example of scientific question that could not be investigated in this way.

For example, a scientific question that could be investigated is: do clouds go in the same direction? And you can do an experiment by putting out a camera and video certain cloud with certain wind speeds in that time of day or weather. A scientific question that couldn't be investigated is: We're clouds first made by God? Because you can't do an experiment and you can't have a logical answer based of scientific knowledge.

Contrast how the term theory is used in science and in everyday language.

In everyday language we use the term "theory" as an educated guess but in science, the term "theory" is used as more of a fact that is supported.

Explain why science cannot provide answers to all questions.

Science cannot provide answers for all questions because there is still a lot of stuff that humans don't know such as much of the ocean. Scientists have only discovered less than five percent of the ocean. Not everything can be observed.

What is science? What is the goal of science?

Science is a way of getting knowledge about the natural world by question and trying to answer the question with facts. The goal of science is to understand the natural world.
