Aramark is the leading provider in the world, operating in all 50 states and 22 countries. Provide food service to health services, education services, businesses, uniform services, national parks, and other recreational facilities

Business & Industry (B&I)

Contractors (managed service companies) account for approximately 80% of the B&I market. To adjust to corporate downsizing and relocations, the B&I segment has offered foodservice in smaller units rather than full-sized cafeterias.

Colleges & Universities

Foodservice operations include residence halls, sports concessions, conferences, cafeterias/student unions, faculty clubs, convenience stores, and catering. Campus dining includes cyclical menus that rotate every 14 or 21 days. Daily Rate is the amount of money required from each person to pay for foodservice. Student Unions offer cafeteria service, branded outlets, take-out, and student pubs etc.

Health Care Facilities

Health care managed services are provided to hospital patients, long-term care and assisted living residents, visitors, and employees. The service is given by tray, cafeteria, dining room, coffee shop, catering and vending. The main focus of hospital foodservice is the tray line: Menu items are added according to the color code for various diets as the tray moves along the line.

Airlines: In-Flight Foodservice

May provide meals from their own in-flight foodservice business or use a contractor. Food must be able to withstand a wide range of conditions. LSG Sky Chefs is the largest airline catering company. In-flight foodservice managers plan menus, develop product specifications and arrange purchasing contracts. Airlines try to control in-flight meal costs (average $7). Meal options: cultural diets, medical diets, religious diets, vegetarian meals, children's meals.

Military

Provide foodservice to military personnel in clubs, dining halls, military hospitals, or in the field. Trends include: Contracting services for officers clubs: Moving from fine dining to casual dining with family appeal Mobile field kitchens: Prepared foods to heat and serve anywhere Providing fast food restaurants on base (McDonald's and Burger King)

Elementary & Secondary Schools

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) feeds millions of children annually. Federal funding is approximately $2.73 per meal per student. Focus on good nutrition (type 'A' menu) Potential market for fast food chains (Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Subway, Domino's, McDonald's...)

Leisure and Recreation.

There are opportunities to be part of professional sporting events, concerts, circuses, other events held in stadiums or outdoors. Stadiums often have several points of service where food and beverage are provided including: Concession stands Restaurants Superboxes, suites, and skyboxes (Premium seating areas)
