Unstructured Data
Not defined and does not follow a specified format and is typically free format. Such as emails, twitter, etc.
Data
Raw facts that describe the characteristics of an event or object. Often disorganized and
Variable
A data characteristic that stands for a value that changes or varies over time
Report
A document containing data organized in a table, matrix, or graphical format allowing users to easily comprehend and understand information.
Snapshot
A view of data at a particular moment in time.
Dynamic Report
Changes automatically during creation. Include updating stock market or calculation of available inventory
Big Data
Collection of large complex data sets, including structured and unstructured data, which cannot be analyzed by traditional database and tools.
Difference between Information and Data
Computers and machines need data Humans need information
Machine Generated Data
Created by a machine without human intervention. Includes Sensor data, point-of-sale data, and web log data.
Static Report
Created once on data that does not change. Include a sales report from last year salary report from 5 years ago.
Information
Data converted into a meaningful and useful context

Structured Data
Has a defined length , type, and format and includes numbers, dates, or strings such as Customer Address. Typically stored in a traditional system such as a relational database or spreadsheet and accounts for about 20% of the data that surrounds us.
Human Generated Data
Human and machine generated data. Includes input data, click stream data, or gaming data.
