Biomedicinska och sociala interventioner
Biomedicinska: syftar till att skapa förändring i individen för att anpassa hen till miljön. Currently, there is little evidence that single interventions aimed at changing specific physiological or psychological functions at the level of body structure and function will necessarily transfer to global changes in participation. Sociala: syftar till att anpassa miljön och samhället för att öka möjligheten till deltagande. The second tradition is a multidimensional approach that concerns social models of disability, principles of inclusion, and resistance of those with disabilities to deterministic and exclusionary medical models.17 This tradition argues that categorization (e.g. of disability) leads to exclusion and ableism. A recent systematic review, however, provided no evidence that children who need special support in mainstream classes had a better social situation or well-being than children in special classes. - Således , ett nytt synsätt?
Yttre faktorer relaterade till delaktighet enligt fPRC
Context is personal, considered from the perspective of the person participating, and relates to the people, place, activity, objects, and time in which participation is set.

Delaktighet som ingång och som mål. Dekontextualserade förmågor säger lite om individens faktiska funktion och om hur engagerad hen kan vara i olika aktiviteter, hur delaktig.
Delaktighet- vad?
Delaktighet är en något vagt definierad term. I många fall ses delaktighet för personer med IF som en effekt av individfaktorer, trots att mycket evidens pekar på att miljö och individ samspelar mycket i detta hänseendet. I många interventioner ses alltså delaktighet som slutmålet, men man skulle också kunna se det som fokus för interventionen.
Inre faktorer relaterade till delaktighet enligt fPRC
Dessa påverkas av tidigare deltagande och påverkar framtida deltagande -Aktivitetskompetens - capacity - a measure of the highest level of ability of the child within a structured environment such as that created for test taking - capability - defined as the skills and abilities an individual can use in a daily environment - performance - the skills and abilities the child actually uses in an everyday setting -Sense of self - personal perception related to one's confidence, satisfaction, self-esteem, and self-determination. These intrapersonal factors facilitate participation by helping the person engage, but are also shaped by participation and associated perceptions of control, effectiveness, or flow. These intrapersonal factors can be seen as a family of constructs focused on perceptions of self, such as autonomy, optimism, self determination, and self-esteem. -Preferences Samtliga dessa regleras av självreglerande funktioner som ofta är mindre utvecklade hos människor med IF.
Vad innehåller ICF?
Ett klassifikationssystem för att bedöma funktion och funktionsnedsättning. Sex "core domains": - Health condition - Body structures and functions - Activity performance - Participation - Miljöfaktorer - Individfaktorer Detta ger en heltäckande bild av individen, dock är det inte helt tydligt hur faktorerna är tänkta att påverka varandra.
fPRC (Family of participation related constructs)
Ett ramverk som beskriver relationerna mellan viktiga individfaktorer som påverkas av tidigare deltagande och som påverkar framtida deltagande.
Delaktighet och normal utveckling
Traditionellt har interventioner fokuserat på att stödja utveckling, men det är då svårt att särskilja effekterna av interventionen från den normala utvecklingen, speciellt när denna är icke-normativ. Kompetens leder enligt det gamla synsättet till delaktighet i ett utvecklingsperspektiv. ICF särskiljer inte tillräckligt tydligt aktivitetskompetens från delaktighet på ett konceptuellt plan.
