When evacuating a burning building

do not open doors that are hot.

Swimming near a strong current could cause you to

drown.

Using electrical tools or small appliances while your hands are wet could lead to

electrocution.

Chemical burns should be treated by

flushing with cool water until EMS arrives.

A victim of hypothermia should be warmed up

gradually

To keep a victim of severe internal bleeding from going into shock

have them lie down and keep warm until EMS arrives.

If someone has suffered a neck, back or head injury

have them lie down until EMS arrives.

Diving into a shallow body of water, or water with underwater obstructions could lead to

head, neck or back injury.

Signs of heat stroke

include hot, flushed skin and diminished sweating.

Heat exhaustion

include pale, moist skin, heavy sweating and dizziness

To help prevent falls in a bathtub or shower you should

install grab bars and rubber mats.

Shock

is a life-threatening condition brought on by a serious injury or illness.

The major cause of drowning is

not wearing a proper flotation device.

Minor burns should be treated by

running cool water over the burned area, pat dry and cover with a sterile bandage.

When lightening begins to strike

seek shelter in a building that is grounded.

All medications

should be kept in a locked cabinet.

The most important thing to do in an emergency is

stay calm.

If someone is suffering from frostbite

submerge the affected area in warm water until unfrozen.

the bible tells us God rules over all events.

Heart Attack

the death of part of the heart muscle.

the freedom from the occurrence of accidents.

Stroke

the sudden and temporary lack of blood flow to the brain caused by clot or blockage in an artery.

To prevent fire caused by a grease spill

throw baking soda on the source of the fire.

Accidents

unplanned events that usually result in injury or loss.

Safety is our responsibility because

we are entrusted with the care of God's creation.
