How can we develop our browser in the next version- What type of features can you add to IE for it to become more popular compared to chrome and other browsers?

-Improvements with browser compatibility -Optimization -Better Developer Tools

"What do you do if a page cannot be displayed?"

-Make sure the path to the url is correct. -make sure they have internet connection -check the proxy

Difference between Chrome, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge browser

-Microsoft Edge is a newer version of internet explorer without outdated technologies like ActiveX and was built using the same engine as Google Chrome -Internet Explorer still comes pre-installed with Windows and is mainly used for the older websites that still rely on ActiveX -Google Chrome is the most popular browser out. No longer supports flash.

If a customer cannot access their browser, what are the steps that you will take to diagnose the problem.

-check task manager to see if there are ie programs running in background and close them -run ie in safe mode(open cmd Type in "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff ) -uninstall antivirus reinstall -reinstall browser (windows features for IE)

If application is hosted in Internet Explorer, but that app runs in another browser like Chrome or Microsoft Edge, what type of difficulties does the customer face

-cross-browser issues -some applications may depend on older technologies that are not supported in newer browsers

Proxy

A proxy server acts as a gateway between you and the internet. It's an intermediary server separating end users from the websites they browse. Proxy servers provide varying levels of functionality, security, and privacy depending on your use case, needs, or company policy.

What type of browsers have you used and what type of issues have you come across?

Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer. -I have come across times where users cannot access external websites due to the proxy not being set - Browsers crashing upon opening due to some conflict with antivirus and browser extensions - Certain web apps not working because they aren't supported in that certain browser

Customer service experience

I currently work as a desktop technician at Texas Instruments supporting the users that work for the company. I contact users to discuss the problem they are having, and I help them remotely if possible, but if not schedule to meet in person to troubleshoot their issue. I manage customer tickets using a program called Cherwell.

High stress environment

I have experience in IT supporting customers and there are times where our ticket count gets way above average and it becomes stressful. But you have to just take it one ticket at a time and keep it professional. If feeling overwhelmed, take a small break.

What is the active X control is in Internet Explorer?

Many Microsoft Windows applications such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Windows Media Player—use ActiveX controls to build their feature-set and also encapsulate their own functionality as ActiveX controls which can then be embedded into other applications. Internet Explorer also allows the embedding of ActiveX controls in web pages.

If customer has custom coding in their web browsers, how would you assist the customer if they run into errors?

Using the developer tools you can inspect the code that displays in the browser and check to see what errors they are running into. It even shows the line of code the error is at. If it is related to css, you can use css previewer and make changes to test what will work
