Schedule view

an activity that involves other people and resources such as meeting rooms

event

an activity that occurs at least once and lasts 24 hours or longer

reminder

an alert window that briefly appears on your screen to remind you of an upcoming appointment

one-time appointment

an appointment that occurs only once on a calendar

meeting request

an email invitation to the meeting and arrives in each attendee's Inbox

any element in Outlook that contains information. Examples of items are appointments, events and meetings.

Work Week view

shows five workdays (Monday - Friday) in a columnar style

recurring appointment

such as a class throughout an academic course, repeats on the calendar at regular intervals

Calendar

the Outlook folder that has your personal schedule of appointments, events and meetings

calendar view

the arrangement and format of the folder contents by day, work week, week, month, or schedule, which is a horizontal layout

meeting organizer

the person who creates the meeting and sends the invitations

Week view

the seven days of the selected week appear in the appointment area

appointment area

contains a date banner and a Weather Bar that shows today's weather in the selected city.

Date Navigator

contains the current month's calendar and the future month's calendar and is in the navigation pane on the left side of the screen

how the time for a calendar item is marked on your calendar e.g. "Busy"

My Calendars pane

includes a list of available calendars where you can view a single calendar or view additional calendars side by side

iCalendar

represents a universal calendar format used by several email and calendar programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, and Apple iCal

Month view

resembles a standard monthly calendar page and displays a schedule for an entire month

recurrence pattern

Outlook schedules the appointment on the calendar at regular intervals for a designated period of time

natural language phrase

a phrase closely resembling how people speak during normal conversation
