After the flood waters receded, Noah was "a man of the soil" and grew a vineyard. One day, after drinking too much wine, Noah passed out in his tent and lay there naked and exposed. Some have suggested that Ham-or possibly his son Canaan-performed an inappropriate sexual act on his drunken father, but that is nothing more than speculation. Eli was the high priest (kohen gadol) of Shiloh, the second-to-last Israelite judge (succeeded only by Samuel) before the rule of the Kings of Israel and Judah. Eli's two sons, Phinehas and Hophni, were priests who committed evil deeds. What did they do? Their sins were greed and immorality. (Eli and his sons are taking sacrifices meant for God.)
