decimal point

A dot that separates whole numbers from tenths and hundredths.

estimate*

A number that is not exact; a careful guess.

expanded notation*

A way of writing numbers in which the numbers are written to show the place value of each digit (639 = 600 + 30 + 9)

fixed expense*

expenses which stay basically the same from month to month, such as housing and transportation.
