10.10 Voting Rights

Any employee scheduled 8 hours on election day & is registered to vote will be allowed unpaid time off to vote in all state and federal elections.

10.11 FMLA

Eligible employees as defined by law will be eligible for leave under FML Act of 1993. Condition is what's prescribed by law unless existing leave provisions in contract provide more generous terms.

10.8 Jury Duty

Employee serving on jury/appear in court and/or police department on behalf of employer will be paid hours absent from work. Pay not exceed basic weekly pay. Employee to notify employer immediately. Any employee required to appear in legal proceedings on behalf of employer will be paid for any time necessary for purpose, includes travel, parking fees. Receipts must be submitted for reimbursement.

10.3 Sickness, Pregnancy, Injury

Employee will be granted leave not exceed 90 days upon written request supported by proper medical evidence. Extentions of 90 days not exceed 1 year will be granted upon written request supported by medical evidence. Employee may request additional leave as reasonable accommodation beyond 1 year which will be considered on a case to case basis. Employee gives employer 1 week notice in writing of desired return to work including release from doctor.

10.4 Injury on the Job

Employee with 1 or more years continuous service is allowed max of 1 week leave paid in any calendar year for injury on the job with authorization by employers designated doctor. Accident must be reported immediately to management.

10.2 Personal Leave

Employees may be granted leave of absence not to exceed 60 days. Employer can't arbitrarily deny request.

10.7 Bereavement Pay

Full-time employee: granted up to 3 days for necessary lost time at work in event of death in immediate family. Pay not to exceed basic weekly pay. Part-time employee: same as above pro-rata bereavement pay determined by average hours worked in last 4 weeks.

10.6 Union Business

Leave granted without pay for employees elected or appointed to union office or delegate to union activity. Not exceeding 3 years

10.9 Hours Worked/Seniority

Leave of absence is not counted as time worked for purpose of contract benefits unless otherwise specified, will not lose seniority. Failure to follow terms of leave, report back to work at end of leave, accept gainful employment elsewhere while on leave will result in employee being considered a voluntary quit.

10.5 Military Leave

Military leaves r given in accordance with federal law. Employer will reschedule days off for employees required weekend military training.

10.1 Leave of Absence

Requests for leave of absence must be made 2 weeks prior to desired date by the employee in writing to the employers HR department with copy to union except in cases of sickness, injury, or otherwise specified below.
