advantages of electronic media at work
1. allows info to be shared with large numbers of stakeholders 2. enables routine messages to be delivered with speed and efficiency 3. reduced time and expenses related to travelling, photocopying, and mailing, 4. encourages more people to participate and share their ideas with others. 5. leaves a permanent record of communication for future reference.
disadvantages of electronic media at work
1. may not be as effective for solving complex problems. 2. prevents interpretation of subtle nonverbal cues conveyed by the sender 3. engenders less trust among the users than does face-to-face communication 4. messages can hurt feelings, be insensitively worded, or be intentionally hurtful. 5. sensitive or private information can be leaked or sent to the wrong recipient.
advantages of written communication

disadvantages of written communication

one-way communication
a process in which information flows in only one direction- from the sender to the receiver, with no feedback loop
two-way communication
a process in which information flows in two directions- the receiver provides feedback, and the sender is responsive to the feedback.
downward communication
information that flows from higher to lower levels in the organization's hierarchy
upward communication
information that flows from the lower to higher levels in the organization's hierarchy
horizontal communication
information that in shared among people on the same hierarchical level.
