Factors like strong emotions or passions, physical or psychological force inflicted from the outside, or emotional illness can limit the full consent of the will.

what is sin like

In some ways, sin is like missing the mark because when we sin, we miss God, our ultimate target. Sin is also a bit like rebellion because we deliberately violate God's law and rebel against his reign. Sin can also be seen as iniquity or wickedness because of the many ways in which sin can cause permanent damage to the sinner

The essential message of the Bible regarding sin remains one of tremendous Good News:

Jesus Christ, through his passion, death, and resurrection, has overcome sin and death and has reconciled us with God.

How did Jesus deal with sin in His earthly ministry?

Jesus forgave sin. He associated with sinners. He taught about sin and forgiveness.

What are sinful actions that involve grave matter

Sinful actions that involve grave matter are murder, adultery, apostasy, abortion, blasphemy, sexually perverted acts, and defrauding the poor.

What must be present for a person to be guilty of mortal sin?

To be guilty of mortal sin the action must be grave, the person must have full knowledge that what he or she is doing is seriously wrong, and the person must fully consent to it.
