The source of ALL energy on the Earth.

Conduction

The transfer of heat between two objects that are TOUCHING. Heat moves from the ground to the air.

Convection

The transfer of heat that occurs in fluids and gases. Heat is moved around the atmosphere.

Heat

The transfer of thermal energy from a hotter object to a cooler one. Heat is transferred in three ways within the atmosphere: RADIATION, CONDUCTION, and CONVECTION.

Radiation

Heat travels from the Sun to the Earth. Can travel through space where conduction and convection need matter to transfer heat.

Sunlight

A form of energy which travels through space until it hits a surface such as the Earth.

Weather

Describes the condition of the atmosphere! INCLUDES - Temperature (hot, cold) - Wind - Precipitation (Rain, Snow, Sleet) - Visibility (sunny, cloudy)
