Problem Behaviors

Type 2 Punishment

negative punishment. Take away a condition to reduce a behavior

Type 1 Punishment

positive punishment. Add a condition to reduce a behavior

should be used to reduce problem behavior along with reinforcement to increase appropriate replacement behaviors

Differential Reinforcement

used to decrease problem behavior. Works by reinforcing only behaviors that should be increased and removing reinforcement for behaviors that should be decreased

works by not allowing the individual's problem behavior to get them out of doing whatever triggered the behavior
