An electrical conductor is a substance in which electrical charge carriers, metals conduct electricity, the best is silver and copper.

Jon can see the conductor of the power cord for an electric lamp. Should he use the lamp? Why or why not?

He shouldn't because he can start a fire or risk him or someone else being electrocuted.

Metal atoms have outer electrons which are not tied to any one atom. These electrons can move freely within the structure of a metal when an electric current is applied.

What is a substitution alloy?

Solution alloys are homogeneous mixtures in which the components are dispersed randomly and uniformly.

Explain why electric current doesn't flow through rubber.

Their atoms hold onto their electrons tightly, so electric current cannot flow freely through them.
