Micro
Where individuals everyday actions and social interactions occur. Eg. families and small-scale social groups (peer groups) Focuses on patterns of social interaction at the individual level.
Meso
Where individuals interact within groups. Eg. schools, communities, church groups, neighbourhoods and workplace (branch and state level) Consists of larger groups that interact directly with the individual. Focuses on relationships between middle-level social structures and the individual.
Macro
Where we observe the wider social structures, social processes and their interrelationships. Eg. social institutions such as media, law, workplace institutions and government Help shape the social and cultural world. Examines how these collective groups relate to the wider society of which they form a part and is evident at national and international level.
