There are lots of ways people can entertain themselves, they can watch films, play games or chat with other passengers.

How do people entertain themselves on trains and planes?

Well, it depends. They usually last for 2 or 3 weeks.

How long do your trips usually last?

For me, the speed of travel is essential, because time-consuming journeys are boring and exhausting.

How much does the speed of travel matter for you?

We ususally travel once or twice a year: in winter and in summer when we are on holidays. We visit different cities and countries and we always go to the seaside in summer.

How often do you and your family travel?

To my mind, most people enjoy sightseeing while on holiday. They like visiting places of interest, going shopping, trying traditional food and taking photos.

What do people like doing while travelling?

It's an activity that happens regularly and has become the usual thing, it can be an old custom, belief or story.

What do you think a tradition is?

To begin with, people choose comfortable and fast means of transport. Also, it should be convenient and reliable.

What makes people prefer some kinds of transport to others?

I'm going to St.Petersburg by Sapsan, a high-speed electric train. It's very comfortable and it takes just 4 hours to get there from Moscow.

What means of travel will you be using?

I' going to visit St.Petersburg, because I have never been there yet. I would like to go sightseeing and visit the Hermitage museum, the Church on Spilled Blood and the Peter and Paul Fortress.

What place are you going to visit next time and why?

I would definitely recommend a foreign tourist to visit Moscow, because it is the greatest centre of cultural, economical, political life of Russia. There are lots of sights worth seeing here, and various events take place in Moscow every day./ I would recommend them to visit the Kremlin, the heart of Moscow where the world famous museums are located.

What place in your country would you recommend a foreign tourist to visit? Why?

I would like to visit _____________________________. I am very interested in the customs and traditions of this country. Also, I would like to visit _____________________________, they say it's amazing!

What place would you like to go to? Why?

We have lots of traditions in our school, for example the first of September.The day starts with the school gathering when all classes and teachers stand in front of the school and listen to the welcoming speeches of teachers, schoolmates and parents. Students look really nice in their new school uniforms! Everyone is excited to see their school friends and teachers after long summer holidays.

What traditions are observed at your school?

We have different traditions in our family. We always get together to celebrate our birthdays and give presents on holidays. We decorate a New Year tree and watch fireworks display every year. Traditions help to bring us together as a family, give us a sense of belonging and build memories for our future.

What traditions does your family have?

In our family we have always had a tradition to get together at New Year . Our grandparents come to visit us and give us lots of presents. Children give handmade presents to everybody as well. Also, we always cook roast chicken according to great gradma recipe.

What traditions of your parents and your grandparents do you know about?

I liked the trip to Spain. Last summer we visited Barcelona and had a great time there. We went sightseeing, tried local cuisine and made friends with some Spanish people. Most of all I liked the Sagrada Familia, one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona. It's fantastic!

What trip do you remember as the best one and why?

My friend likes all-inclusive holiday tours (package tours) to enjoy the best of all services available at a hotel, starting from accommodation to facilities like swimming pool and dining at a restaurant.

What trips are described as very good by your friend?

I think that planes are the most convenient means of transport, because they are fast and comfortable./As for me, I think the planes are the most convenient, because they are the fastest kind of transport. It takes you a few hours to get to a distant city, while it takes a number of days by some other transport.

What type of transport do you find the most convenient? Why?/What means of transport is the best, and why?

I've visited lots of towns and cities in Russia, such as St.Petersburg, Vladimir, Suzdal and others. And I've been to some foreign countries as well, they are Spain, Turkey and Egypt.

Where have you already travelled?

In my opinion, summer is the best season for travelling. Most adults are on leave in this period and children have holidays, that's why summer is the optimal time when you can start on a journey.

Which season is the best for travelling in your opinion?

I think most people enjoy travelling because it is a good way to relax and to experience new positive emotions. It gives you an opportunity to communicate with different people and get to know their lifestyles and traditions.
