brachial vein

formed from the axillary vein as it courses along the posterior aspect of the humerus, formed by the union of the radial and ulnar veins of the forearm

fibular vein

found in the calf

basilic vein

found on the medial aspect of the arm and entering the brachial vein

external jugular vein

joins the subclavian vein near its origin to return the venous drainage of the extracranial tissues of the head and neck

internal jugular vein

large vein that drain the superior sagittal sinus and dural sinuses of the brain

great saphenous vein

longest vein in the body, begins from the dorsal venous arch, extends up the medial medial side of leg and empties into femoral vein

receives venous blood from lower limb

cephalic vein

superficial venous drainage of the arm, courses along lateral aspect and empties into axillary vein

anterior tibial vein

superior continuation of dorsalis pedis vein of foot, vein of the lower leg

medial cubital vein

vein that runs between the cephalic and basilic veins, in the anterior aspect of the elbow. choice site for removing blood for testing.

inferior vena cava

veins draining the lower body empty into the inferior vena cava, runs from the junction of the common iliac veins to right atrium of heart

gonadal veins

veins that are very slender; drains either ovaries or testes

axillary vein

The subclavian vein arises as the continuation of the

becomes external iliac vein in the inguinal region

renal vein

blood vessel that carries blood away from the kidney and toward the heart -left side is longer
