Close reading
Critically examining significant details and language patterns of a text in order to develop a deep understanding of the office claims or point of view
Sourcing
Examining the who what when where why of a document
Primary source
First hand accounts of an event created by eyewitnesses or first recorders of the time or the event
Historians
-A person who is an authority on history and who studies it and write about it -A writer, student, or scholar of history -writes chronological record of events
Anthropologist
-A person who specializes in Anthropologie which is the study of humans, their origins, physical characteristics, institutions, religious beliefs, social relationships -The science that deals with the study of human culture and evolution
Geographers
-A person who specializes in the geographical research -Who specifically studies the surface of the earth including such aspects as climate topography vegetation and population -Studies affects on the earths surface on human activities
Archaeologist
-A professional scholar who studies and reconstruct the human past through it's physical remains -work involves the scientific cleaning identifying collecting objects found in the earth or see the motive is to record and interpret ancient cultures
Secondary source
Accounts of events created at a later date and by someone who was not present at the event
Point of view
And opinion or perspective presented by the author of a document influenced by the authors personal circumstances
Thesis statement
One sentence that expresses the main idea of an essay it makes a claim directly answering the question
Contextualizing
Taking into consideration how the author was influenced by when and where the document was produced
Frame of reference
The personal attributes and life experiences of an author that may have influenced his/her point of view
