Differentiate the 3 types of muscle tissues. Describe the similarities and differences of them.

Skeletal, cardiac, and smooth are all types of muscle tissues and all three provide movement. Only cardiac muscle and skeletal muscle are striated. Only cardiac muscle and smooth muscle tissue are involuntary and uni-nucleated. Skeletal muscle tissue is voluntary and are attached to bones with tendons. It is the only multi-nucleated one. It has it's contraction where it can be slow all the way to being fast. It has four layers of its tissue: an endomysium, perimysium, epimysium, and a fascia. Cardiac muscle is only found in the walls of the heart. It has branching chains with intercalated disks to help the movement. It pumps blood directly throughout the body. The contraction is slow and rhythmic. It only has endomysium that's attached to the fibrous skeleton of the heart. The smooth muscle tissue lines our organs and our vessels. It is spindle-shaped. It moves with peristalsis. There's no visible striations, which is what makes it smooth. The contraction is very slow and it mainly has endomysium between the cells.

________ muscle tissue has no visible striations and has spindle-shaped cells.

Smooth
