SURVEY What is a survey?
A method of gathering information from a small sample of the population
CREDIBLE SOURCE What is meant by a credible source of information?
Accurate, trustworthy and truthful
PUBLIC RECORD Provide two (or more) examples of a public record.
County tax records, census reports, birth, marriage, death cerificates, court and criminal records, public meeting minutes, government spending reports, laws, real estate records and vote records
PUBLIC RECORD What is a public record?
Documents or pieces of information that are not considered private or confidential
CREDIBLE SOURCE List the main characteristics of a credible source of information.
Fact, qualifications of an author, detecting bias and consistency
ADVOCACY GROUP What is an advocacy group?
Groups of individuals that advocate or work on behalf of or strongly support a particular issue, cause or piece of legislation
ADVOCACY GROUP What is the main function of an advocacy group?
Need to keep their finger on the pulse of Washington.
