Instrument used to measure horizontal or vertical motion during an earthquake.
Stress
Measure of force exerted within an object
P wave
The first earthquake wave that reaches a seismic station from an earthquake
Focus
The point of an earthquakes origin deep within the earth
S wave
The second earthquake wave that reaches a seismic station from an earthquake
Magnitude
The size or intensity of some measurable quantity
