The circulatory system transports blood throughout the body, and as it flows it extracts waste from your body. Then, when the blood reaches the excretory system it deposits waste and the excretory system removes the waste.

What is the structure of the heart and how does it pump blood throughout the whole body?

The heart is a muscle that does important jobs. When the heart muscle releases oxygen, rich blood from the lungs fill the left atrium. At the same time, the right atrium fills with oxygen poor blood coming back from the body. Then the heart muscle contracts and blood is squeezed through the valves from the body through the atrium into the ventricles. When the ventricle contracts, blood from the right ventricle goes to the lungs to pick up oxygen. While blood from the left ventricle goes to supply oxygen to the rest of the body. As blood moves through the heart, the valve closes preventing blood to flow the wrong way.

Venules merge together to form veins and veins transport lower pressure blood to the heart so they don't need thick walls like arteries. Veins have valves to prevent the backflow of blood. The inferior and superior vena cava collect deoxygenated blood from the body and carry it to the heart. The pulmonary veins carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.
