hominem

A fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or people involved in it. An example of it would be people criticizing Trump because of his hair and political views. Some people think that he is a dumb person.

Red herring fallacy

A fallacy introduces an irrelevant issue to divert attention from the subject under discussion. An example of it would be the 2012 Presidential debate between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. A woman asks how the two men will "limit the availability of assault weapons." Neither of them answered that specific question. Slippery Slope

A fallacy that assumes that taking a first step will lead to subsequent steps that cannot be prevented.An example of this would be when you are tempted by a donut. But you really shouldn't because your diet but I will just eat one donut. Minutes later, you have eaten a dozen donuts.

Bias

A particular preference or point of view that is personal, rather than scientific. It is a inclination toward or away from one way of thinking, often based on how you were raised. An example, of it would be A February 2017 poll from Fox News indicates that 68% of Americans think the press has been tougher on Trump than Obama. Straw man fallacy

A statement that refutes a claim that was never made. An example of it would be the "Medicare for All" movement by Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders: "The time has come also to say that we need to expand Medicare to cover every man, woman, and child as a single-payer, national healthcare program." John Delaney: "We should have universal health care, but it shouldn't be a kind of health care that kicks 115 million Americans off their health care. That's not smart policy." loaded language

It is words that imply a value judgement, used to persuade a reader without having made a serious argument. An example of this would be arguing and saying," OMG how could you loose that stupid Spanish paper". And saying it while laughing.

Ommision

The act of leaving out or neglecting. An example of it would be your friends all ignoring you and judging you and you feel left out because they are betraying you.
