tell me about yourself

i am a 15 year old sophomore at burlington high school. I am in a program called driven which is a club where you do service learning projects, help out around school, etc. I have also been in competitive gymnastics since i was 3.

tell me about how you deal with difficult people

i am very good at working with people. i don't get angry very often and i always try to find a good compromise when i disagree with someone.

why did you leave ur last job

i didn't because i wanted to work at 2 places so i can save more money for college.

what did you not like about your last employer

i didn't like that they scheduled me for times that i wasn't available for and didn't even ask me before. i'm very busy with school and practice and i don't think they really worked around my schedule.

give me an examole of a difficult situation in a priar job

A difficult situation i was in was when a kid i coached in gymnastics said a bad word and i had to talk to his mom about it. long story short the mom got mad at me and yelled at me for "bothering" her. I simply said that we could not have him saying any bad words anymore.

what kind of people do you dislike the most

I don't like people that are dishonest because then you can't trust them

if you were an animal what would you be

I would say that im a dog because im loyal and always try to be friends with everyone

what are your typical working week hours

about 10-15 hours a week. i can't work tuesdays, thursdays, or fridays because i have practice and i work at my other job.

Tell me about a time that you didn't work well with a supervisor. What was the outcome and how would you have changed the outcome?

i didn't work well with one of my teachers a few years ago. i thought she hated me and she treated me unfairly. i always tried to work well with her but we just didn't fit. i guess i wish that maybe i would have tried to see her perspective more and that she was just trying to help me.

this is a highly competitive job. what sets you apart?

i don't get upset with people even though i don't agree with them and im very good at compromising which i think sets me apart because some people cant

what do you know about our company

i know that your company is a great grocery store in burlington wisconsin and many people go there to get fresh food

how do you handle working with people you don't like

i like almost everyone i meet and i give everyone a fair chance. but, if i dont like someone i work with im still nice to them and do whatever i can to get along with them

tell me about a time that you misjudged a person

i misjudged i girl i work with now, i just thought that she looked mean and like she was scowling. Then we got assigned to work together and i found out that she was super nice and fun and i actually feel really bad about it and i definitely shouldn't have judged her.

what would your job references say about you

i think my job references would say that im a hardworker and ill do whatever it takes to be successful at the things i do.

what have you learned most from your past job

i think that i learned that compromising is really important or else your not going to get anything done.

why do you want to work here

i want to work here because i think it's an honorable place to make money for college and you actually care about giving people good products.

how long would it take you to make a real contribution

i would work as hard as i could the first day i started and continue to do that as long as i was working there and make as big of a contribution as i could to help make the company successful.

what would you not like to do in this job

ill do whatever i can to make myself successful in this job but i don't think that i would like to be a cashier because im honestly not very good at mental math and i think that i would be too slow

are you a risk taker

im pretty much a risk taker. i don't like to do things that are too risky and could be potentially dangerous and i do like to consider possible outcomes before i do something.

whats the most difficult work challenge you've had to overcome?

just disagreeing with a girl i worked with because we wanted to do different things on events and we both thought the kids could handle different things. so eventually we sat down and figured out what we should do on each thing ahead of time so we wouldn't argue anymore

describe a decision that you made that was a failure. what happened and why?

last year i decided that i wanted to quit gymnastics and it was the worst decision of my life and i ended up being super depressed. after a month i went back to it but i was definitely not a good idea to quit.

give me a situation where your values were compromised

one time when i was working with someone on a biology project we ended up disagreeing about what we should do and i ended up just not working with her. I felt really bad about it because that is definitely not like me and i was not being a good friend so i apologized and were still friends.

what do you think your job duties would entail

putting away carts, stocking shelves, and working check out

what are your weaknesses

sometimes i am pretty critical of myself and my decisions but i look forward to being able to work on that and i am getting better

what are your future goals

to go to college to be a physical therapist and get a gymnastics scholarship for whitewater.

what is your personal mission statement.

well you guys don't have one but i would say that my personal mission statement is that i would want to make all customers satisfied and happy.

what is your favorite game? how does it apply to your position here.

well, i don't really have a favorite game but my favorite sport is gymnastics. and i think that applies to my position here because i have to be responsible and work hard and that's what i would have to do here too.

you have to say directions or rules 4 or 5 times for children to actually remember it

you should hire me because i'm a hardworker, im very good with people, i'm good at compromising and i have good values

why shouldn't i hire you

you shouldn't hire me if your looking for someone that needs every task described for them. i am the type of person that like to work independently and i don't like to have specific instructions for every task i do.
