What is a Sandbox?

A sandbox is a testing environment typically copied from your production org. New changes should be developed here first and promoted into production. The login credentials for the sandbox environment are different from production. This is because all usernames must be unique across all orgs. Additionally, users can exist in sandboxes and not in production. The opposite is also true.

What is the Salesforce Global Search?

A way to search diff records within the objects. It is located at the top of the page, above the objects. In the search box you can add an * asterisk aka a wild card to bring up other results that might now show up when typing in one word You can use operators like AND, AND NOT etc. after typing in one word when searching for things you can't quite think of.

What is Agile project management?

Agile works at a faster pace. It is a way to quickly and efficiently methodology to deliver projects in a flexible way. It is being moved between phases, from → to do / doing / testing / deployed etc. People usually work in silos and work on the next prioritized item (unless with a QA tester or team to deploy a specific function) Items are prioritized as they come in to the backlog and urgent items are put at the top the backlog. There are lots of work meetings about the work priority.

What does the Salesforce security permissions do?

Allow stakeholders to keep their deals, cases and opportunities private and away from others that do not have a need to see the information.

What is Scrum Project Management?

An agile project management methodology. It focuses on the backlog of work and sprints to test and improve the products and services. A scrum team determines what needs to get done within a 2 week sprint to get user stories/projects done. If something new/urgent pops up that goes into the next 2 week sprint instead of becoming a priority.

What is programmatic programming?

Coding development features throughout Salesforce consisting of: Case escalation rules - email turns into a case within the system Auto response rules - automatic messages when contacting people Assignment rules - route the right records to certain people

What does a Salesforce Admin do?

Day to day updating for the org. They are familiar with end user experiences and the backend of Salesforce.

What does a Salesforce Architect do?

Focus on the technical knowledge on how the platform works. They are the big visionaries. Work is based on code. They work on big projects and spearhead business problems and solutions to put them into chunks that they build out. They are like a builder of a home.

What are the 4 types of Sandboxes?

Full sandbox - everything from your org, good for testing and practicing deployments Partial copy sandbox - you'll see some data come from your org / you'll have to mess around and see if you can break it Developer pro sandbox - will not see any data come from your org, have to create new data Developer sandbox - will not see any data come from your org, have to create new data

How do you enable the Lightning Knowledge Setup?

Go to Setup, search for 'Knowledge Settings', and check the 'Enable Lightning Knowledge' checkbox.

How do you add New Users?

Go to setup → quick find box search 'users' → new user → enter all the information needed (red highlighted fields are required) The username needs to be unique across all different orgs.

What is Salesforce Trust?

It is a way to see if there are any issues within the Salesforce environment. Trust.salesforce.com is the site where you can see system status, security and compliance updates. You can also see if you're having a Salesforce issue, company issue or user issue with your org. You can also narrow down issues by region.

How do you create a Lightning App?

It is created under Setup. Search for 'App Manager' and create the Lightning App. You can define supported form factors, like mobile or desktop, and specify all objects that should be accessible in the app top navigation tabs.

What is declarative programming?

No-coding, point and click development features throughout Salesforce consisting of: Flows - a way to simplify different processes → example: renewal opportunities for an annual year, make this an automatic annual thing with flows Approval processes - a way to submit a record to a manager for approval → example submit a discount code for your customer, by sending it to your manager for them to approve.

What is the Salesforce Experiences cloud?

Product for building secure websites, portals, and apps with connected data quickly. It lets you create a social platform for customers to engage with your brand → it creates a site and content backend that is operated by Salesforce. It has a community portal for members to login.

What is the Salesforce Commerce cloud?

Product for selling B2B or B2C. It has a green shopping cart icon that focuses on B2C transactions. Basically it is e-commerce shopping that leads back to a Salesforce org to fulfill and ship orders. It is similar to shopify.

What is Einstein Analytics?

Product that does enterprise-level analytics on your customer data. It is a part of Salesforce 360 that uses all the orgs data to come to AI conclusions that are better and faster solutions.

What is Mulesoft?

Product that is used to integrate systems. It is an automation platform that pulls from different APIs and systems that puts information in one central place for analytics and integration.

What is Health cloud?

Product to Connect the Patient Journey for Healthcare Providers It is a patient centric model for the healthcare industry that is more secure. It keeps up with appts, follow ups, prescriptions and makes it easier to remain HIPPA compliant.

What is the Salesforce Marketing cloud?

Product to enable companies to market to customers. It keeps track of potential customers → helps them go through the sales path. It helps you get to know the beginning of the customer journey. It features campaigns, campaign members and leads. Marketing and sales cloud has some overlap. And depending on the company selling process, you can understand the ROI on different marketing efforts within your org.

What is Sustainability / Net zero cloud?

Product used to track, report, and analyze environmental data. It breaks down sustainability for environment friendly business uses. It shows your org where it can improve. It's a way to take back info to clients to show how sustainable and responsible they are.

Salesforce's solution that connects all information about the customer in an easy to access system. A way of connecting all the products Salesforce have to create one holistic view of the customer journey and experience.

What are Company Settings?

Settings for the entire company default information like time zone, currencies, manual exchange rate, multiple currencies (cannot turn off), languages, business hours, fiscal year (forecasting) and holidays Contains user licenses for new users, which is a way for SF to keep track of what your org is paying for.

What is the Salesforce Sales cloud?

The most fundamental cloud that connects leads and opportunities. Provides info about the deals that are being sold within your org. It contains every step of the sales path. Product to enable Sales Teams to manage customer data and sell effectively.

What is the Salesforce Service cloud?

The second most common cloud, biggest focus is on customer service and success. Deals with use cases, accounts and contacts. For ex. an email can turn into a case that is automated via phone, email or web chat. There are some automations for case resolution within this cloud.

What does a Salesforce Developer do?

They are code heavy people that build out areas within the platform. The best developers are also admins because they create code for things admins can't do.

What does a Salesforce Consultant do?

They usually work for a firm and are placed on different projects. They place the products with the right org. A lot of consultants work with CPQ → Certified CPQ consultants produce quotes for complex quoting systems and proposals.

This will allow you to use different components to customize the Lightning Page to meet the business' needs. A record page is also a lightning page.

Upgraded version of excel and Google Sheets. Allows you to check in with clients automatically based on where they are in the customer journey. A place where you will not have to worry about losing customer data. Salesforce is the leading CRM (Customer Relationship Management) provider with many products to help serve your customer.

User Interface designer and strategy designer that focuses on the look on the user platform.

What are Personal Settings?

When logged in, personal settings are accessed by clicking your profile image in the top right of the page. Personal settings are where timezone, name, email, and email signature are changed or configured.

What is Salesforce Setup?

When logged in, the setup menu is accessed from the gear icon in the top right. This is where most of the changes administrators perform are accessed.

What is the App Launcher?

When logged in, this is the top left navigation 3x3 matrix icon. Click on it to access objects, apps like service or sales console, and the recycle bin. You can also find the recycle bin where you have 15 days to go back into the recycle bin before everything is deleted. There is also a list of settings and files at the bottom of the launcher

You can set the license for the profile and role permissions Once the profile is saved you'll have all the default permissions You can freeze users. The purpose of freezing users rather than deleting is → it stops users from logging into the org with client info → allows org to move over the user records so a client isn't left unattended
