Science Grade 7 Photosynthesis
What does carbon dioxide and water convert into?
oxygen and sugars
What is the first stage of photosynthesis?
Capturing the suns energy in chloroplast, which are in leaf cells
What is a heterotroph?
Organism that cannot make its own food, and gets energy from sun in an indirect way.
What is an autotroph?
Organism that makes its own food and usually goes through photosynthesis.
Where are chloroplasts found?
Plant cells and certain unicellular organisms.
What is stomata?
Small openings on the under sides of the leaves, where carbon dioxide enters.
Why are plants green?
The chlorophyll causes plants to be green.
What is the relationship between photosynthesis and respiration?
They are opposite equation.
What is the second stage of photosynthesis?
Using energy to make food, produce sugars/glucose, and oxyhen then comes out.
What is the chemical equation for photosyn.
carbon dioxide+water-light energy-> glucose and oxygen
Where is chlorophyll found in?
chloroplasts
What is photosynthesis?
process by which a cell captures the energy in sunlight and produces food.
What is chlorophyll?
the main green pigment, usually gives off green color, and is used to capture light energy.
