Socrates, Plato and Aristotle
Who was Aristotle?
Aristotle was a philosopher and scientist was a student of Plato. He believed that you needed logic to answer something, not look to the gods. He started a school called the Lyceum. Soon after he was asked to tutor Alexander The Great. He also created the scientific method.
Who was Plato?
Plato was a philosopher who was a student of Socrates. He thought society should be broken into 3 parts, philosophers/leaders on top, warriors in the middle, and workers on the bottom. Plato opened a school called the academy. One of his many students was Aristotle.
Who was Socrates?
Socrates was a great Greek philosopher who questioned the gods. He asked his students questions but never answers them. If he is asked a question he won't answer it. He also questioned the authority of leaders. He was put on trial and sentenced to death. He was sentenced to self suicide. He was forced to drink hemlock, a poison. Much of what we know of Socrates comes from a student of him called Plato. Plato was the one who wrote down his studies.
