Ron is Tess's mom's friend for a long time, they also work together as artists in an art studio. Ron's wife Nina just died, except he isn't acting as sad as someone would be after their wife commited suicide as he says.

Secrets Lies and Algebra is a book about a girl named Tess. Tess is 14 years old she is in 8th grade. And day Tess was doing copies in the copy room as a favor for her teacher. But when Richard showed up in there Tess froze up because Rich>Tess. Rich was good looking and popular. Even though Richard acted like as if he wasn't doing anything wrong, Tess was confused wether or not to let Richard print a copy of the constitution test answer key that was in his hand. Maybe Tess should since R>T....would it make T>R if she didn't though?

Rising action and Climax

Tess decides to go to her math teacher and tell him about her the possible murder. She also tells on Richard and his friends for cheating on the test. The results to this include the boys not being able to go to the winter formal. Tess wonders if she shouldn't of been a snitch and now she is < everyone.

falling action and resolution

Tess learns that Rob really had nothing to do with Nina's death. She just died in the car from carbonmonoxide. Tess, Miranda and Sammy become friends. In the end Tess shows them their signs which means how she feels about them. Sammy's sign is s to the fifth because she repeats everything five times. Miranda 's sign is the absolute of m because she is always positive. In the end all the friends are happy and Tess is happy she told on the 3 boys.
