Accumulation

Accumulation is the collection of rain, snow, sleet, etc. (precipitation) into puddles, rivers, lakes, and oceans.

Aquifer

Aquifer is an underground storage area for water that consists of a layer of porous soil and/or rock above a layer of rock that will not allow water to percolate.

Condensation

Condensation is the process by which water changes from a gas to a solid or liquid.

Evaporation

Evaporation is the process where water changes from a liquid to a gas. When water vapor (or droplets) come together in the sky, they form clouds. This happens because of the heat.

What are the three main stages of water cycle?

Evaporation, condensation, and precipitation.

How can water be in gas form?

Gas form of water is referred to water vapor or steam.

Where can we see water in liquid form?

Liquid is the most common form of water. The accumulation of water through rain and this makes makes the earth's lakes, streams, and oceans.

What are the different forms water is present?

Liquid, Solid, and Gas forms.

Percolation

Percolation is the downward movement of water from the surface of the earth into below ground aquifers.

Precipitation

Precipitation is the process by which the condensed water in the clouds returns to the earth. Depending on the temperature, precipitation can be as rain, snow, ice or hail.

Reservoir

Reservoir is above-ground man-made lake that is used for storing water until it is needed.

What is solid water?

Solid form of water is also known as ice. Snow and hail are the two main forms of solid water.

How much of water is in Earth and where is it?

The Earth's water supply is made up of oceans (97%), icecaps and glaciers (2%) and fresh ground water (1%).

Transpiration

Transpiration is the process by which living plants release water vapor into the atmosphere.

What is water cycle?

Water is essential for life, making up almost 75% of all living things. It continuously recycles between sea, air and land, creating the conditions in which life can exist. This continuous water movement is called the water, or hydrologic cycle. Hydro means water.
