Ultrasonic water level sensors are used in the crop fields that measure the amount of water in the irrigation channels. The sensors send their data back via wireless transmitters. This data is then picked up by the wireless receiver, which sends the data back to the controller. The controller then uses this data, together with the data from the weather station, to decide whether it is necessary to stop or start a series of water pumps. This is done by sending signals to actuators, which operate the pumps. Although the whole system is fully automatic, a supervisor still monitors the process remotely. Using a schematic of a number of processes, the supervisor can oversee several irrigation processes from one central point. The supervisor can override the controller if necessary.

What is deductive reasoning?

Where a number of correct facts are built up to form a set of rules which can then be applied to other problems..

Differentiate between artificial intelligence and machine learning:

o Artificial intelligence - Represents simulated intelligence in machines. - Aim is to build machines that are capable of thinking like humans. o Machine learning - Practice of getting machines to make decisions without being programmed to do so. - Aim is to make machines that learn through data acquisition, so that they can solve new problems.
