Animal Diet Paragraph
Cheetah's are carnivores which means they eat only meat. In order to survive, they eat small to medium sized animals such as hares, impalas, wildebeest calves, and gazelles. Cheetah's are able to obtain their meals by hunting. They sneak up as close as they can on their prey and use their speed to catch them. The cheetah does have unique feeding habits. The cheetah hunts during the day to avoid competition with other animals like lions. They eat their food as soon as possible so a lion or hyena can not take it. Cheetahs are mainly predators but other animals that prey on the cheetah include humans, leopards, eagles, hyenas and lion.
Is the cheetah prey to other animals?
Cheetahs are mainly predator but can be prey by humans, leopards, eagles, hyenas and lions
Does the cheetah have any adaptations to help it survive in its environment?
Cheetahs claws help it run fast and catch prey. Has blacker lines on its face to keeps the sun out of the cheetahs eyes.
What type of shelter does the cheetah have?
Cheetahs live in open environments. They sleep in tall grasses or under trees

Conclusion Paragraph
The cheetah has a unique background, physical features, habitat, and eating behaviors. To sum it up cheetahs are like no other animals when it comes to their lifestyle. We need to protect the cheetahs from going extinct so they can live for hundreds of more years.
Animal Background Paragraph
The cheetah is apart of the mammal class in the animal kingdom. It is a vertebrate with an endoskeleton which means the cheetah has a backbone and an internal skeleton. The cheetah is an endangered animal. There are approximately only 9,000 to 12,000 left wild in Africa. A cheetah has fur and is tan with black spots. Some unique facts about the cheetah are that they have black teariness on their face to keep the sun out of their eye. Cheetahs are the fastest land animal in the world. When running they use their tail to steer and balance. They also use their claws as cleats to grip the ground.
What are unique features of the cheetah?
The cheetah is built for speed. Tail is for balance and steering. It has special pads on its feet for traction. Long, slim, muscular legs. Small, round head on neck, flexible spine and deep chest.
Animal Habitat Paragraph
The cheetah lives in mainly Northern Africa and is scattered across Eastern and Southern Africa. The climate in this area can be described as hot. Africa is the hottest continent. Africa is 60% desert and is arid which means it has little rain fall. In order to live in this environment, the cheetah has adapted by using its speed to catch prey and run from predators. Cheetahs live in open environments. They sleep in tall grasses or under trees. Male cheetahs usually live with their brothers or other male groups called coalitions. Female cheetahs hunt and live alone with the exception of their cubs.
Other interesting facts about the cheetah
