CALL- call EMS, whether it be a bystander pointed out specifically or yourself. PCC may also be called depending on the emergency. CARE- care for conditions found. Depending on the emergency, you may have to care before calling. If CPR is needed, you must care for any severe bleeding first. At least 2 minutes of care should be given to the victim and care first scenarios usually require quick thinking.

Disease Transmission

DIRECT- directly touching. INDIRECT- touching bloody objects. AIRBORNE- coughing and sneezing. VECTOR- animal bites that may be infected with rabies. To get a disease the injured person must have a disease, the rescuer must be exposed to body substance such as blood, urine, saliva, or feces and must have a break in skin or mucous membrane of eyes and mouth, and there must be a sufficient amount of body substance with enough pathogens.

If the victim has no pulse, had a seizure, or is experiencing changes in level of consciousness.

To check for signs of breathing, you should do what?

Look, listen, and feel for signs of breathing for 5-10 seconds.
