Corporate culture (informal)

- employees are encouraged to make their own decisions - allowed to dress causally and have more flexible work hours - in some cases they can even work from home - job titles are not as important as creativity and teamwork - founders can sit in cubicles so they can interact with employees and be available to them

- increased productivity and efficiency, and fewer legal costs from employee complaints - workforce offers a broader range of ideas - greater diversity helps company better understand and serve diverse markets - improves morale among employees - strengthens employees commitment to company goals - workforce offers a broader range of points of views - diversity training also helps reduce conflicts among workers - lower turnover rates, less absenteeism

- may have a strict hierarchy - usually one person at the top making all the decisions - may be several levels of management below - known as a bureaucracy - making changes or passing down decisions can be complicated - job titles are indicators of power and status - dress codes and work hours are strictly enforced

Steps needed to select the right candidate for a job

1. Recruiter must review each candidates application and/or resume 2. Screening 3. Human resource manager reviews qualified candidates 4. Check applicants background and references

I would choose strong soft skills because those include things like communication, flexibility, leadership, teamwork, and time management. This person would be great with others and would boost them, improving the performance overall company

Why is receiving a gift from a potential business partner considered taking a bribe in some country's?

In some country's it leads to corruption in their system. It just depends on who the country is

How does knowing a country's culture help a company that wants to do business with the country?

Knowing a culture will help the person know when a conclusion is made and how they act compared to that person's country. It would also help the person make sure that they don't insult the country and lose the deal all together that they were working on

They need reasonable accommodations because without them, that is discrimination against disabled people. They do not need absolute accommodations because the employers do not have to hire someone who cannot preform the job even with the reasonable accommodations available
