Observing participants in their natural habitats without interacting with them at all. Control is sacrificed.

survey method

tests correlation between two variables. cannot control PRCV and (for the most part) SRCV. Convenient, but has low response rates

Ex post facto study

examining the effects of the independent variable when the variable has been present in the participants prior to the study

Correlation

expresses a relationship without ascribing cause (the presence of A predicts the presence/absence of B)

Case Study method

gets full detailed picture of one subject/ a small group. Cannot be replicated and cannot produce findings that can be generalized.
