parabolic (blowout) dunes

U-shaped dunes with an open end facing upwind

transverse dune

A relatively straight, elongate dune oriented perpendicular to the wind.

Barchan dune

A solitary sand dune shaped like a crescent with its tips pointing downwind.

The volume of water ice found in the gas giants (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune) is greater than that of the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars) because: A. There was more matter farther from the Sun B. The solar wind sucked all the water molecules toward the Sun C. Water ice was not stable close to the Sun where the inner planets orbit D. Drought associated with el Nino

C. Water ice was not stable close to the Sun where the inner planets orbit
