What is the difference between 'their' and 'they're'?

'their' shows that something belongs to a group of people. 'they're' means 'they are'

Bill Gates has an enormous house. (Our/Ours/Ours') house is tiny.

It's the boy's bedroom. (if the noun is SINGULAR, put the apostrophe BEFORE the s) the bedroom OF the boy

It's the children's school. (Always put the apostrophe BEFORE the s for irregular pronouns. Other examples of irregular pronouns are man --> men, woman --> women, etc)

It's the dogs' tails. (if the noun is PLURAL, put the apostrophe AFTER the s) the tails OF the dogs
