Erythropoietin

A hormone produced and released by the kidney that stimulates the production of red blood cells by the bone marrow.

Calcitriol

A hormone produced from vitamin D that acts in essentially the same manner as parathyroid hormone.

Aldosterone

Adrenal cortex hormone involved in regulating salt levels of body fluids

renin

hormone secreted by the kidney; it raises blood pressure by influencing vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels)

ADH (antidiuretic hormone)

secreted by the posterior pituitary gland, it increases water reabsorption in the kidneys
