classic "experiment" where individuals were assigned to be guards / prisoners. w/in days they took on their roles and went too far. Highly unethical
Confirmity
compliance with standards, rules, or laws.
informative conformity
conformity that occurs because of the desire to be correct
normative conformity
the tendency to go along with the group in order to fulfill the group's expectations and gain acceptance
Just World Hypothesis
1. Victims of sexual assault are often blamed for their attack, as others suggest that it was the victim's own behavior that caused the assault. 2. You don't have a stable income because your poor as you don't work hard. ( They get what they deserve)
Self serving bias
Bias sa situation ( example pag nag success ka sasabihan mo dahil yun sa abilities mo but if nag fafail ka sisihin mo yung environment/situation ) ( Important for self-esteem and confidence)
Stanley Milgram
Who did the Experiment : Obedience was measured by the level of shock that the participant was willing to deliver. While many of the subjects became extremely agitated, distraught, and angry at the experimenter, they nevertheless continued to follow orders all the way to the end
