For example, a p-value of 0.05 means that there is a probability of 0.05 (5%) that the results could be due to random chance. In other words, even if you see a dramatic slope, if the p-value is greater than 0.05, you must treat the result as non-significant and conclude that there is not a relationship between the variables.
