After reading this chapter, I learned how extremely different we are from other cultures and religions. I also did not know that prolonged eye contact was considered impolite in African and Asian cultures, to us that's correct and polite. Never assume and stereotype anyone from another culture. In hospital areas, I thought that the food depended on just the health, I never would have thought it had anything to do with cultural beliefs. Food Stamps, also known as Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), is a federal nutritional program that provides assistance to lower income families. There are three federal tests that each household must pass in order to be eligible for food stamps, however, some forms of eligibility can vary from state to state. The three tests are mostly based on income and assets. SNAP counts any cash that is received, before taxes, both earned and unearned, as income. The bigger the household, the higher the benefit amount will go.
