Spanish Civil War

1931, Spain created a weak republican government. civil war in Spain in which General Francisco Franco succeeded in overthrowing the republican government by creating his own Fascist party. He doesn't just threaten the civil war, he starts one. The war between Fascists and the republican government. They both ask for international aid. Franco asks for help from the German and Italian because they're all Fascists. They say yes, because they're Fascists, and if they help Franco win there will be another Fascists country and Hilter will get to test his army in their civil war without breaking the league of nations. The republican government can ask for help from the US and they say no. The US is neutral now and they were upset they got involved in WWI and wanted to deal with their own problems during the depression, but there are some Americans that do go over and call themselves the LINCOLN BRIGADE.
