Ex. Calcareous ooze forms from calcite bearing organisms when they die. Siliceous ooze is composed of skeletons from diatoms and radiolarians. c) hydrogenius sediment comes from minerals that precipitate or crystallize directly from seawater. Most common types include manganese, nodes, calcium carbonate, metal sulfides (from black smokers), and evaporites. L-12
