SolidWorks

Sketches are used to produce features and features are combined to create parts. Parts are put together into assemblies.

Gondola shelving Characteristics

1. ArtiosCAD 2D package 2. Convert to 3D (open the top flaps) 3. Menu or the toolbar>Animation>Add frame 4. Close the top flaps of the box 5. Close the flaps using the slider or the pull down box> Add frame 6. Animation playback (green play arrow) 7. Select package>Rotate 90 degrees>Add frame -When your video is complete, Save it using File>Outputs 3D> Animation AVI. In the resulting Animation AVI window, select AVI or MOV file type and leave the rest of the defaults

Custom Artios Specsheet

Structure and Graphics Integration Workflow

ArtiosCAD to CAPE Workflow

1. Design 3D package with graphics 2. Orient the package so that the length is on the right. 3. On top menu, click Palletization. 4. Click Change Pallet and select the target pallet. 5. Click Palletize design. 6. In the window CAPE, the box weight is calculated. Set or change other variables as needed. Solid weight refers to the weight of contents of the box. No contents = no weight allowed. 7. Click OK to send to CAPE. 8. CAPE creates a pallet pattern. Use the arrows (top menu) to select your desired pallet pattern. 9. Save the CAPE solution in whatever way supports the project for documentation. 10. Click File>Export and Exit. 11. CAPE sends the solution back to the ArtiosCAD 3D window and closes. 12. Note that the shippers are one group of contents and box. They can be ungrouped and the bottle or other contents selected individually and separate from the box. 13. Add other views or designs or components

Opening 2D Bottle in Visualizer (AI)

1. Open ARD file in AI>expand structural design layer 2. Select whole profile, and connect and clean 3. Revolve and add label 4. Add label(s) 5. Save As... ZAE Collada file, select Just Save. 6. Now Open the same document in AI (a ZAE Collada file). Select which label to work on if you made more than one 7. Design a label. Check your work by using Studio to see 3D (F5) 8. Save AI files as you go, one file for each label 9. Send the whole design back to ArtiosCAD. In the upper right hand corner of the Studio window, pull down the menu and select Export. Select the File Type as Collada Archieve. Name it so you know you have the structure and all the labels. Note that this is also the place where you can create a PDF/U3D file

Placing Graphics on Structure Workflow

1. Save as a AI file 2. Turn on only the layers you want to print (don't show Main Design) and Export as a Normalized PDF, (File>Export>select Normalized PDF> in Preferences, Embed Images, for Trim Box (Borders) select Artwork Bounding Box from pull down. 3. In ArtiosCAD, place graphics on structure. In AC do (File>Import file>select Normalized PDF file>As Graphics) then do (Tools>Graphics>Register Bitmap>uncheck Clip and Scale). You may have to move the art somewhat to align the artwork's registration mark and the 2D drawing's registration marks. 4. In ArtiosCAD structure with graphics 2D, do (File>Convert to 3D) for initial virtual prototype. File can now be saved as A3D, 3D PDF, Collada (DEA, ZAE) etc. 5. In AI, also try Visualizer Quality to see a very realistic virtual prototype (upper right Studio menu).
