After blood leaves the spleen through the splenic vein, it flows into the hepatic portal vein which transports it to the liver where it is detoxified before returning to general circulation

Describe the structure of a lymph node.

is encapsulate in a fibrous connective tissue with many incoming (afferent) and fewer outgoing (efferent) lymphatic vessels. the interior of the node is divided into open spaces called nodules contain lymphocytes and macrophages

5. Describe the flow of lymph.

lymph flows in a one-way direction from the lymphatic capillaries through the lymphatic vessels and eventually empties into venous blood of the cardiovascular system.

on the the lateral posterior portions of the throat -they gather and destroy pathogens that have been inhaled or ingested -there are grooves along the surface called crypts that trap bacteria
