noun

A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea.

preposition

A preposition is a word used to show a relationship between a noun or pronoun and some other word in the sentence.

pronoun

A pronoun is a word that is used in place of a noun or a pronoun. The word that a personal pronoun refers to it is called its antecedent.

part of speech

A term in traditional grammar for the eight categories into which words are classified according to their functions in sentences.

conjunction

An interjection is a word or a short phrase used to express emotion, such as wow, or my goodness.

grammar

The set of rules that explain how words are used in a language.

parse

To divide a sentence into grammatical parts and identify the parts and their relations to each other; to study (something) by looking at its parts closely (to analyze).
