Dorsal Recumbent Position

first of the two positions recommended for DRE

Lithotomy Position

in this position make sure hips are on very edge of exam table, used for gynecological purposes such as pap smear

Proctologic Position

position mainly used in proctocologists office used to examine colon, rectum and lower intestines

Trendelenburg's Position

position used for patients that have orthostatic hypotension, trauma or syncope

Sitting Position aka High Fowler's Position

position used for posture, vitals, checking spine and reflexes

Knee-Chest Position

position used mainly for just spine alignment

Supine Position

position used to check extremities like stomach

Prone Position

position used to check spine alignment, shoulders, neck and legs

Semi-Fowler's Position

position used to check stomach, heart and legs
